'Lost' vs. 'Glee': Who ya got?

"Glee" is already a pretty heavily DVR'ed show, adding an average of 1.67 million viewers per episode this season via delayed viewing. That could go up -- maybe by a lot -- come spring. When "Glee" returns in the spring, the fiercely loved cult hit will be going up against another show with a rabid fan base: "Lost." The ABC series will be entering the home stretch of its six-season run by then, with likely only seven episodes remaining when "Glee" comes back on April 13. In the grand scheme of things, the "Lost"-"Glee" showdown will probably be a battle for, at best, second place. Neither show is likely to beat "NCIS: Los Angeles," which is averaging close to 17 million viewers this season ("Glee" is at 8.5 million, and "Lost" last year drew 11.3 million viewers a week). But in terms of fan obsession, few other shows on TV can match "Glee" and "Lost." So our question to you, Zap2it readers, is a simple one: Which one will you watch first? 'American Idol' runners-up first-week sales: How does Adam Lambert stack up?

How do the first-week sales of Adam Lambert's "For Your Entertainment" stack up against past "American Idol" runners-up? Very well. The numbers aren't solid yet, but the projection is anywhere from 225,000 to 300,000 copies. That's an excellent first week. Compared to the past runners-up of "Idol," Lambert will most likely wind up second only to Clay Aiken (which is nicely ironic ). The list is as follows: 1. Clay Aiken, "Measure of a Man," 613,000 2. Bo Bice, "The Real Thing," 227,000 3. Adam Lambert, "For Your Entertainment," 225,000 to 300,000 (projected) 4. David Archuleta, "David Archuleta," 183,000 5. Kris Allen ranks dead last out of the eight "American Idol" winners for first-week album sales, having racked up only 80,000 copies sold. The entire list is as follows: 1. Ruben Studdard, "Souful," 400,000+ 2. Carrie Underwood, "Some Hearts," 315,000 3. Taylor Hicks, "Taylor Hicks," 298,000 4. Kelly Clarkson, Thankful, 297,000 5. David Cook, David Cook, 279,000 6. David Letterman's mom may surprise us all this Thanksgiving. Each year, Dorothy Mengering appears on the "Late Show" via satellite from her Indiana home on Thanksgiving for the "Guess Mom's Pies" segment in which Dave would try to predict what pies she made for the holiday before she'd reveal them. We thought we'd get in on the action this year with our own pie guesses. Here's a look at some of the pies of years past: 2008 - peanut butter, pecan 2007 - no pies reported due to writers strike 2006 - pumpkin, apple 2002 - pumpkin, raspberry 2001 - pumpkin, lemon chiffon 1999 - pumpkin, red raspberry chiffon 1993 - orange pumpkin pie w/ whipped cream and hickory nuts 1991 - pumpkin, pecan Judging from those, we predict at least one has to be a pumpkin this year. "Saturday Night Live" has landed Taylor Lautner, wolfy guy from "Twilight's New Moon" as a host. Ooh, maybe there will be a Taylor Swift cameo! Lautner and James Franco are the two newest names to be added to "SNL's" December hosting lineup, according to "Access Hollywood," after "Gossip Girl's" Blake Lively was revealed as the Dec. 5 host , paired with Rihanna as musical guest. Lautner, who became a "Rolling Stone" cover boy and was briefly on NBC with the short-lived "My Own Worst Enemy," will follow on Dec. 12, making his hosting debut alongside musical guest Bon Jovi. Normally amiable "Living with Ed" star Ed Begley Jr. gets passionate about green living. Fox News' "Neal Cavuto Show" guest host Stuart Varney found out firsthand. Varney pressed Begley about recent reports that hacked files cast doubt on several climate change claims. While Begley started out his normally calm self, rightly insisting interested parties should turn to qualified scientists rather than actors and anchormen, that's not dramatic enough for the, well, inflammatory talent at Fox News. First thing in the morning, you can spend three hours hoping one of those giant balloons gets loose over Manhattan like on "Friends." The rapper's fourth solo album had the lowest opening week of his career , bowing at #5 on 160,000 sales, trailing his next-smallest debut, 2007's Curtis, by more than 500,000 copies. Self-Destruct did leak weeks before its release, causing a one-week push-up for the physical release and an even earlier release for the album's digital incarnation. And 50 doesn't appear to be sweating the sales dip. "For myself, I'm asking myself, 'What did you expect, bro? Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 Tuesday night was a ratings race with CBS' crime procedurals coming out on top among households, but ABC's three-hour "Dancing With the Stars" finale snatched away the adult demo mirrorball trophy -- barely. Also good for ABC was "V," which maintained its viewership from the previous week after dipping in the past two weeks. CBS took the night with 16.6 million viewers and a 10.3 rating/17 share in households, just ahead of ABC's 15.9 million/9.8/16. A far-off third place went to NBC (7.6 million, 4.7/8), followed by FOX (5.4 million, 3.3/5) and then The CW (1 million, 0.7/1). Among adults 18-49, however, ABC jockeyed for position and pulled ahead with a 3.9 average for the night, edging past CBS' 3.8. NBC had a 2.9, FOX a 2.1 and The CW a 0.5.
